Ancient Dream came into being in 2005 from Elena and Sergio’s shared passion for travelling, meant in its broader sense of discovering that minor part of Italy made of tiny Medieval hamlets, unknown or forgotten by mass tourism to date.
Before accessing the web, Elena and Sergio focused on a long survey activity concerning these regions which kept the twosome occupied for over a year.
In past years these places were left out from the traditional itineraries, due to this circumstance, they have preserved to date an intact historical, cultural and environmental heritage and, unlike other destinations, they allow one to plunge completely into the medieval atmosphere giving that outstanding time-leaping feeling of being in an another era.
We dream of taking you through the history, art and culture of villages and hamlets off the beaten track and give you a taste of the warm atmosphere that these historical sites scattered all over Marche and Umbria can still offer.
We wish to share with you our unique approach which aims to take you on an exploration of these enchanted landscapes, taking in ancient tastes and atmospheres along the way which will remain indelibly in the memory.
First the Etruscans and then the Romans started modelling these territories by farming the land and growing vineyards and olive groves, which even nowadays characterise the landscape and influence strongly the great food and wine culture.
By promoting this new cultural-tourist route based on the rural, environmental and historical assets, we lead you through an exciting experience which comprises visits to the magical settings of strongholds, fortified cities, old fortresses and tasting of the produce of these lands whilst becoming, even if for just a short time, citizens of the hamlets.
Be seduced by the charming landscapes set amid the softly outlined hilltops, wide irregular valleys and picturesque multihued plateaus dotted with gem-like medieval villages where time seems to have stopped and take in the simplicity of unspoiled traditions which are still part of everyday life.
